A Martian

How unusual am I.
Never served, but love our vets.
Cannot police, but appreciate them in our streets.
Faint at the site of blood, but donate all I can.
Would give more, but am only one man.
Vote in every election, but none of the candidates now have my same direction.
Own my own business and I own my business.
Like to play, but not really concerned about fitness.
TV and commercials make me cringe, their messages clearly place me outside the fringe.
How can I breath in this air so polluted?
Earthly bounds I have refuted.
I pray for the rest.

What a mess

How did we get here?
So much hate, so much fear.
Every time I see the news,
nothing to report but the blues.
Once we were great, and now it ain't so.
Something has to change and something has to go.
Who will lead us out of this shit?
They all appear to be a bunch of twits.
If your family was as dysfunctional as Congress,
they would all be in funny farms so they could do no more harm.
Republicans hate democrats.
Democrats hate republicans.
No wisdom, just bullshit rants.
Great, where does that leave Americans doing their best?
Under duress.
